In case you’re just tuning in, I’ve chosen to participate in a daily post challenge, Reverb10, for the entire month of December. (Yeah, like I don’t have anything else to do…)
The prompt for yesterday from Scott Belsky (see, I told you I have other things to do) was this: Action. When it comes to aspirations, it’s not about ideas. It’s about making ideas happen. What’s your next step?
The next step for me is to finish strategizing what writing projects I want to have completed in 6 months, then work backward in one-month increments to identify the steps and actions necessary to meet those goals. I’ll finish the massive action diagram I’ve been working on, because it gives me a structure, approach and methodology for my writing. I’ve given myself ten days to complete this indepth analysis and course of action.
It is my plan, it is the way ahead, and so it also serves as my compass. It reminds me what is important, and helps me step away from what is not. It doesn’t mean I won’t waste time or fritter it away, but it reminds me what I value and what I wish to achieve.
