Forced to Fly

Every now and then a great opportunity comes along that you just want to pass along.

Most of you are familiar with Jo Parfitt as the publisher/author/writing mentor who is a one-woman whirling dervish and major supporter extraordinaire of expat books and writing.

As usual, she’s juggling a few dozen projects at once, but always finds time to share info, tips and tidbits.

One such tidbit arrived in my email in-box minutes ago. Jo is updating and putting out a second edition this fall of her book of expat stories Forced to Fly.

But even better, she is offering the chance for expats (current and former) around the world to contribute a story to the new edition. She’s asked for help getting the word out to anyone and everyone who wants to participate.

How cool is that?!

Details for the competition are here, but the basics are simple: funny story about life abroad, 1000 words or less, due August 31st.

I hope you’ll put your thinking cap on, limber up your fingers, and start writing!
