When asked to participate in the book project that became Turning Points: 25 Inspiring Stories From Women Entrepreneurs Who Turned Their Careers and Their Lives Around (Kate Cobb, editor; Summertime Publishing, 2011), I was flattered, excited and a little nervous to boot.
Launch date was November 1st, 2011 and to say that I was wowed by the response is an understatement. Overwhelmed and humbled was more like it…
The book hit #1 on Amazon’s Women & Business category, and peaked at #22 on Entrepreneurship and #34 on Self-Help > Success sub-category, so it’s a bona fide bestseller. (Although it does beg the question why anyone would want self-help that wasn’t successful…)
I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone and anyone who has helped get the word out through posting, sharing, tweeting, retweeting, liking, emailing, posting on LinkedIn or Google+, or just plain told someone else about the book. We could not have done so well without each of you. Thanks!
I’m pleased to note that Turning Points is available in Kindle format as well as paperback.
I’m personally grateful to share that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of every copy (printed or digital) goes to the very deserving international charity Seeds for Development to help lift farmers in Uganda out of poverty and on the road to sustainable farming.
Since its founder, Alison Hall, and her staff work on a voluntary basis, 100% of contributions go directly to helping Ugandan farmers, and by extension, their families and communities.
(Don’t just take my word for it, check out the post about Seeds for Development at the bottom of this page. And I don’t need to tell you that 100% is pretty much unheard of in non-profit circles.)
In the interest of housekeeping I thought I’d capture all posts, virtual book tour stops, podcasts and other book-related items here under this tab.
